find a hobbie.... go to the library.. join a book club.. join a church...
If you are not into dating... find a few good computer games... volunteer your time at your local school, church, homeless shelter...
go back to school.. learn a new skill...
Or.. you could sit and home and wallow about how there is nothing to do ... just like you did when you were 10 and it was the middle of summer vacation.

Become involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to give you something to do. Anything that involves other people will open the door to new friendships and then if something blossoms, go for it. There are lots of places you can meet people and it's not bars.

I know this sounds corney but I joined a church. It was a place where I could improve my outlook, learn newthings, change my life aand meet people who had the same sorta life I did. I church shopped until I found one that I really liked and then started oing reguraly, I am not a Holy Roller but I am a Christian and the type of people you meet at church all have the same type of morals and beliefs I have. Plus its not a "meet" market. I am makig lots of new friends of the same sex.
