Well, techincally, WE aren't pregnant, I am pregnant. I wanted some kind of special and unique way to let the famililes know. Well, actually my mother knows but was sworn to secrecy. It will be the first for both our parents and his grandparents first great-grand child. I want a unique yet special way to tell them? I am having my first ultrasound done on the 19th - would framing the picture and sending it to all of them be special? Just want to surprise them. This was an unplanned, unexpected BUT welcomed pregnancy - we had the philosophy of when it's our time to have a baby we will and apparently, it's our time.

Thanks much!

I like your idea of having the ultrasound sent to the family.
Or you could put an add in the local newspaper where each family lives with the ultrasound pic and a cute statement saying something like: Your name and Husbands Name are pleased announce to their family that they are expecting a new member of the family on your due date. This will be the first grandbaby for (names) and the first great grand baby for (Names).
Ask the newspaper what section it would be under or if they know what page it will be on.
Send a letter or email or have your mom call them and let them know that they have to check teh newspaper under whatever section or page # on the date the paper will come out.
Congrats!

When I was pregnant with my first, I put the sonogram in a picture frame and wrapped it. It took my mother a few seconds to figure out what was going on, but she couldn't have been happier. Then with my second child, it sounds gross, but I took a pregnancy test and put it in a box. The look on my mother's face that time was happy but "eww I don't want to touch it!"
Congrats on the baby!!!

Hi there,
When my husband and i found out we were pregnant ( due in june with our first!) and after i had told him. I wanted to do something special to tell my and his parents. I'm into scrapbooking and so i made them cards and had little footprints on the front. On the inside i came up with a poem and signed the card from the baby. The look on their face was priceless. Good luck.

Make copies of the songram at a place like Kinkos and they have fonts you can print on the picture. You can put something like Hi Grandma and Grandpa! (Do a seperate one for great-grandparents) and then place it in a simple card. I did this for my husbands mother and she was shocked and surprised when she realized just what it was

even as my husband and that i presented our first being pregnant, we offered a toddler image album with the toddler feet because the pattern photo interior the front. Then we offered the sticky letters that maximum folk use for scrappbooking and at the front of the album we placed COMING toddler (very last call) in Aug 2010. They loved it. God Bless and Congrats. Oh, regrettably I miscarried that toddler, yet we are searching ahead to back and with any success may have a Christmas toddler.

Buy them all mugs or T-shirts with the phrase "Worlds Best Grandpa (or Grandma)!"

Watch the look of confusion on their faces transform to utter joy!
