With both of my pregnancies they had me come in at 9 weeks to hear the heart beat. It really depends on the mother and the baby, all womens pelvics are different yours could be slanted back or forward. or the baby is smaller than others therefor the doctor cant find a heart beat or the little buger is too fast, or hiding. Have fun with your pregnancy!! It only lasts 9 months!!

We were able to SEE the heartbeat on an ultrasound at 8 weeks, but it is not possible to hear it then. By 11 weeks you should be albe to hear it with the doppler that the doctor has. There are products you can buy that supposedly let you hear the heartbeat at home, but those don't work until well into the 3d trimester. Once you go for your 12 week appointment, your doctor should check the heartbeat of the baby each time you go - and let you listen to it too. The first time you hear it, it is so amazing - often the first signs of life forming inside of you!

good luck!

you can hear it with the doppler after 10, but not always if they can't hear it with the doppler yet then they can do a vaginal ultrasound and hear it.
my first one i heard around 11 weeks my second pregnancy they couldn't hear it at 10 so they did the ultrasound so i could hear it.

As early as 9 or 10 weeks (although sometimes it's very hard to find). You can see it on ultrasound as early as 6 weeks.
