My favorite resturant would be at the Melting Pot, it's located almost every where in the united states. The one I go to is in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The first Melting Pot restaurant was started in Maitland, Florida in 1975 with a menu that consisted of just three items: Beef fondue, Swiss cheese fondue and milk chocolate fondue for dessert. Since then, The Melting Pot menu has grown immensely, as well as the number of restaurants. For example, within six years, there were five more Melting Pot restaurants in Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa and Gainesville. At latest count, there are 70 restaurants in locations all across the nation. What’s more, new restaurants are being developed in new areas every day.
What is fondue? It actually originated in Switzerland as a clever and tasty way of using up hardened cheese. Fondue is derived from the French verb fondre and means “to melt.” While most people define fondue as a “thick cheese sauce in which bread chunks are dipped,” the Melting Pot takes it to a whole new level. Fondue becomes a memorable four-course dining experience, where you can really dip into something different. Enjoy a choice of four flavorful fondue cooking styles and a variety of tasty entrees, including tender beef, boneless breast of chicken, duck, lobster, shrimp, scallops, salmon and much more. All are available in many different combinations with a variety of special dipping sauces. Cheese fondues can be ordered separately and are included with the purchase of any combination dinner. Along with every entrée, you’ll get breads, savory vegetables, and even a choice of three different fresh salads. As if that’s not enough to whet your appetite, you’ll also love the Melting Pot’s wide selection of creamy, mouth-watering chocolate fondue desserts. In addition to the Melting Pot’s ever expanding fondue menu, there’s also a growing list of fine wines.
I definately sugguest it to you just as I have to all of my friends and family!

Fondue is where you dip food into whatever concoction you have chosen from the menu. I have eaten there. There are 3 courses: cheese fondue, your main entree, and dessert. The cheese fondue is pretty good. You get apples and 3 different breads to dip in it. The apples with cheese are fabulous even though it sounds strange.
The main entree is not very good. You get your steak or seafood (whatever you ordered), and you put it in the pot which is boiling. There are all kinds of flavors in it. You cook it as long or as short amount of time as you wish. You eat it. You are provided prongs to stab your food with and place into the pot. It is not very good. No matter how many flavors are in the pot, it is still boiling the food, so it sucks out a lot of the flavor.
However, the dessert is fabulous. You can order dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate. You can mix and match. You can add things like Oreos, Graham crackers, marshmallows, nuts, etc. You get things like pineapple, bananas, strawberries, poundcake, etc. to dip into the chocolate. It is the best dessert I have ever had. I have since bought my own fondue pot and make chocolate dessert.
I went once for dinner and a few times for dessert only. It is a nice, romantic restaurant. It is also very price. (I spent $125)

I went there for my anniversary this year and it was definately worth the money, however on a regular basis it would NOT be someplace I chose for dinner. The service was spectacular, the food was very good - especially the dessert menu as everyone has suggested.
The cheese blend they use for the fondue was very good - we chose a swiss cheese blend mixed with white wine. For our main course we had a tray of different meats...steak, lobster, chicken...which we cooked at our table in an herbed broth. For dessert we chose a white chocolate fondue which came with fresh berries, pound cake, and pineapples, etc.
All in all, the experience, the atmosphere was pleasing. The bill was around $150, but we purchased the anniversary package where we got our picture taken also.

RJs_Girl82 summed it up pretty well. I grew up with Fondue @ home in all different forms and to me, for what you get, the Melting Pot experience is waaaaaay overpriced and somewhat overrated. The food is not that great, but the dessert was yummy. My hubby and I celebrated New Year's Eve there and dropped $200...ouch, my wallet hurts!

it really is a fondue eating position. An appetizer may be cheese fondue with bread cubes. Entree may be fish, beef or hen with both a fondue pot of broth or oil. Dessert may be melted chocolate with both fruit or products of cake. everyone has a small metallic skewer to %. up the bread/meat/fruit with and dip into the fondue pot. You get to practice dinner your meat on your liking. No double dipping. they actually have vegetables. it really is a interesting meal, and may be extreme priced.

we go to the one in nashville at least once a month, it is awesome!!!!! we usually get the same thing..."big night out" which has filet mignon, lobster, shrimp, chicken, pork and we cook it in the "mojo" broth. you can either cook it in the broth, or do yours deep fried.
you start out with a salad, then they bring a cheese fondue for your appetizer that has vegies, breads and fruit, usually apples, then your main course and more vegies for cooking with your entree, and dessert is your choice of any of the chocolate fondues.
be prepared to spend some money tho, our bill is usually $150.00 for 2 people before tip.

See for yourself. Check out their website. You will have to click on your state and then your location but from there you can pull up the menu. It is like 16 pages long and full of pictures and prices and descriptions.
