I think your generalizations are wrong. A lot of the same characteristics that you have described women with dark skin of having are the same characteristics that a lot of women with light skin have also. The same holds true with the characteristics that you said women with light skin have. I have met some of the most superficial, materialistic, gold-digging dark-skinned females ever (ex. my cousin is this way and she's dark-skinned). I'm light-skinned too and people have thought me to be stuck up, mostly females, but it doesn't make sense because where ever I go, I talk to everyone because I love people. I am also very educated and currently have a career. I have also decided to go for my master's degree really soon to open up even more opportunities. I think a lot of people pass judgments off of just the way a person looks and I think it's wrong. Yes, I like to shop and dress well whenever I go out, and I like to have my hair done but that doesn't mean that I'm materialistic or a gold-digger. I don't think I'm prettier than dark-skinned women either. I have seen beautiful dark-skinned women before, and I'm not superficial because I am now old enough to understand that personality outweighs looks hands down. I don't think that we should look at color as much as we do. We should look at each person as an individual and not expect them to be the same way as SOME others in their proposed group might have been because in real life, there's ALWAYS an exception to any stereotype so your generalization will never apply to everyone in that group.

I went to an inner city Indianapolis school and there were 13 white ppl there my first year and I noticed that light skinned ppl were thought to be more attractive.

However near my graduation time it was the dark skinned ppl that were now "in" it seems like to me it is a fad.

However when I was in highschool I never dated dark skinned just light. To me that was more attractive so I know what you mean.

Ther eis no problem however I can see that a dark skinned woman would say that it is. I think its just a personal prefrence.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

There is nothing wrong with that, just because you don't find overly tanned women doomed to contract melanoma with white blond hair that breaks when you touch it. Its a personal preference, and if people are giving you crap for it because their preference is different, just remember that leaves more dark haired light skinned girls for you.

There is nothing wrong in your liking light skinned girls over dark. I think it will be wrong for the light skinned girls if you get them.

I dont understand why ppl are giving you a hard time about it? I prefer men with dark hair. I just dont find blondes appealing. Its a personal thing. Tell your friends to mind thier own business.

I see nothing wrong with it.It's your preference and you should be able to choose who you want to spend your life with. Some people don't like fat folks or short haired women, others stick with
just one race. Then there are the ones who only like folks with money. Just remember that the more preferences you have the slimmer your pickings will be.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Everyone has there own certain taste's about certain things. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a brunette either. Or because I'm light skinned. xoxoxo

You like what you like. Period.

I see beauty in all men but honestly, I prefer a black man--the darker the better. Always have, always will. But that doesn't mean I couldn't or wouldn't have a meaningful relationship with a man of a different race or coloring.

I think the problem occurs when you wouldn't even consider being with a "dark" girl. That's kinda racist.

There's really nothing wrong with it. But sometimes what we think we want isn't what we end up with! You can't custom order Ms. Right. If you don't even consider girls with dark hair, you may pass right by Ms. Right without even knowing it.
