My Dads side of the family are very superstitious. Don't ever open an umbrella in the house around any of them. Don't spill the salt. When I was a young girl and broke a mirror I hid the pieces in the bottom of the garbage so that my Dad would not find the pieces, talking seven years of bad luck, he wouldn't shut up about it for seven years, that was the bad luck! That's just the normal few superstitions. There of course are many more but the one tha really sticks in my head is the very reason I can't whistle today, not even for my dog. Here it is and others say they've never heard it before but every time I'd try to whistle as a girl, my Dad would always say "A whistling woman and a crowing hen always comes to some bad end"! Hope that yours aren't as bad. However my Dad has since passed away and I would love to hear his voice saying that to me again.

I come from a Mexican family and most of them are superstitious. But i think most of all they are just following tradition, because most of the time they don't know why they do things.

Yep, the older generations of my family (parents and grandparents, etc) are definitly supersticious. I remember my grandma yelling at me once while she was driving because I had tried to put on a white headband. She said that if someone who still had birth parents who were alive wore a white headband, they would die, and that I shouldn't wear it until my parents were dead. Same thing with little boys in my family slicking their hair back to show their foreheads.

Just a few who will not travel all at the same time, just in case. I think they are nuts.
