Sit in the front of the room. In the front two rows of a small classroom, front three rows of a large classroom, or front five rows of a large lecture hall. Makes a big difference, trust me.

Use a day planner to help you schedule test, projects, and other big assignments. Schedule ALL your activities in here, and check it often so that you can prepare for things ahead of time.

Don't multitask when you study. Too many students try to listen to music, chat online, watch TV, and study all at the same time. Studies have shown that developing brains need to focus on one task to effectively retain information.

Put aside sometime. Take all the classes you have the most trouble with and study for them first. If you have the time take twenty minutes or more each to study for two classes or so. Then take a break...a good long break. Then go back and study for the easier classes. Having a study session of studying for everything at once won't do you any good. Make sure you take breaks, it'll help yuo absorb.
