This is how 2008 looks from this side of the pond- Unloved by conservatives, McCain and latter day saint and opportunist abortionist Romney both tainted by their support for a 'Surge' to the deeply unpopular war in Iraq by a President accused of abandoning that oxy-moron, conservative principles and now said to be marginalised and irrelevant. Giuliani, looking good after 9/11 then taking a hit after sharing a room with Bonny, a gay Chihuahua. The 1994 revolutionary Gingrich and brother of the Pres. 'Hangin' Chad' Jeb are the most unlikely 'Saviours' in history. Although unbridled liberalism now raging like a forest fire in Massachusetts is unlikely to reach the hinterland the horribly named and racially challenged Obama will be swept aside with all the former, by America's first woman President. That's how I read it and it sure was fun.

I'm actually an American Libertarian and I have no allegiance to the Democrats or Republicans. Actually, the Republicans have as good of a chance of capturing the White House as they did before the mid-term elections. The Republican Congress was thrown out for many reasons.

The foremost reason is that they have always used rhetoric about less government and lower taxes. Actually, they are more like the pigs in Animal Farm, i.e. - they became exactly like the Democrats. Second, there was a huge scandal concerning a homosexual, alcoholic Republican congressman, Mark Foley from Florida. Foley was boozing and carousing teenage congressional pages who were sent to Washington by their parents to learn about the government, etc. There were some hints that the Republican leadership did not deal with Foley's misadventures seriously enough.

The Democrats did not win the election with their usual rhetoric. The American people did not elect them in order to have a more onerous, nanny-like government. As it stands, both parties are just as dysfunctional as they ever were.

The Democratic side looks as abysmal of the Republicans. Foremost is Hillary. She cannot answer a specific question about anything and sticks to vague platitudes such as, "Our children are our future..." Barak Obama has only two years of legislative experience.

My fantasy election of the likely contenders would be Joe Biden (Democrat) vs. Ron Paul (Republican).

I guess we should all just stay home in 2008 then, cause you got it all figured out. America will soon show ou guys why we really saw a change in '06. It wasn't a vote of confidence for the liberal agenda, it was a vote of accountability to straighten up a party who has lost its compass. There aren't more liberals now than before, they are just getting louder b/c they are confident that their platform will sell, but it won't until you guys return to the platform of Truman, or if the G.O.P. makes too many mistakes in the minds of those who vote on common sense instead of idealism.

Can you say run-on sentence?

Anyway. dems are screwed two. Hilary is an opportunist hag that most republicans(especially women) will NOT vote for and face it, you need atleast a third of us to win. Obama is a young black man trying to act like a big boy in a man's race. the Muslim school thing didn't help. I do not like mr McCain but will vote for him bc i don't care about the person... i care about the party. You mentioned Romney's abortion views and while they suck like Giuliani's.... as republicans they would not do anything about them while acting as president bc they would be disowned by republicans.

Question or Statement? 2008 is a long way off. In politics it is like being 200 years away.

Y'now whats sad? Yellow dog democrats who would rather eat glass than vote for anyone remotely associated with the republican party. I vote republican, but I would vote for a democrat if....if,I liked their policies and they were'nt going to sell out to the special interest groups.
