I'm uncomfortable around black people, especially at night (why do they have to wander the streets, in dark clothing of all attire!)
I'm scared when I see the most-wanted lists, and, well, most of the people on there are black!
When I see the news about crimes, it's mostly the black people being shown killing each other.
My discomfort comes from this fact.
Am I wrong to think like this? What can I do to get over it?

You're not racist, you just believe every skewed thing fed to you. Does that make you racist? I don't know. But it does make you at the least, naive, and at the most, stupid. But you'd have to figure out which you are: Intentionally ignorant or just misinformed.

You may not be racist but those are pretty racist feelings you are probably from an all white family and grew up in an all white neighborhood otherwise you probably wouldnt really care. If you actually watched the news lately the latest murders and attempted murders were not black people. The FBI top ten most wanted list actually contains no black people. Maybe you should get more educated before you just go around making false statements. Ignorance is your problem, if you got to know people from other races you wouldn't feel that way. Step outside of the box.

Its pretty normal to fell uncomfortable about your felling for some specific perhaps race, but to me a sub-race because truly the only race there is in this world is the Human race. You have learn something without realizing it, prejudice it comes from below, and from ignorance and inferiority's, I'm convince that prejudice it comes from sub-races, which they think of their self for some remote reason of been inferior, despite that non-of the best blacks actors have making me fell been prejudice about their self, another sample is Colling Powell's, as well than Mohamed Ali the boxer, and many others they are wrong and not you.

Yes you are wrong . do you think white America is going to show you white people killing each other (no that would make white people look bad ). I don't recall blacks hanging each other in slavery times, That was white people hanging blacks . So you need to blame your ancestors for how uncomfortable you are feeling .Because the majority of black people are not evil nor are they poor or stupid. you should watch the movie "crash" its very good. it won't fix your problems but its about exactly what you are talking about. plus it has sandra bullock in it and she's cool... at times.
and i'm sorry but i'll have to agree with some of the other statements. In my experience when someone starts a sentence with " i'm not racist but..... i think and do racist things. but i'm not racist..... " or I'm not racist because i have a friend of a racial minority... then the statement usually becomes more offensive.
But... I think your question is genuine. The reason you think this way is because the media is very selective in choosing what crimes to show. You'd be suprised to know that there are just as many white crimes if not more. That doesn't mean you should go hang around dark alleys. but geez get over it.

No,anyone in your situation would feel the same,but you have been deceived,not all black people are murderous criminals who stalk their victims in the dark of night like some kind of monster,rather most are misunderstood,and have been abused by this type of thinking.The only way to overcome this is to have a personal relationship(non-romantic)with a black person.We are not animals we are people

maybe cuz of their history in the u.s when the white ppl slave them and they took them down..
about their dark clothes thats their style that's all and if it wasn't that cool then how come white ppl now a days try to dress like them..
and if you look at the most wanted ppl you'll see that most not half but most of them are white also the child melesters i've never seen a black one..
i really hope u get over that for a better future to the world

Talk to a black person get to know someone who is and once you have gotten to know them then ask their point of view about just be up front about they have to understand! (at least i would....)AND NO YOU ARE NOT RACIST NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE MAY SAY YOU'RE NOT!!
If you go around calling them names and saying crude things to them then yes you are but i doubt you do....so those other people are just upset at someones belief and questions!! It's really no problem in the question!

There may be more crime in the black community, but you can't just lump every black person into the same group.
