As far as sun sign and moon sign goes. Both are based on different concepts. Sun sign is practiced in western culture whereas Moon Sign is practiced in Indian culture.
Now, according to ancient indian astrology, if moon in your horoscope lies in Aries then your moon sign is Aries. ans so on.
for your question. the answer is "No". It doesnt matter if your sun and moon sign are same. What really matters is The Match making of 2 person's horoscopes.

sun signs are supposed to be in same group except for Pisces who are more adaptable than most......cancer is good with Pisces and Scorpio.....birthdates can help us out..
