Not sure how you are going about the fix. But if you start up your Mac using you OSX install CD/DVD. You should be able to repair any problem your Mac may be having.

You cannot repair the start up volume when it's active.

So to do this.

find your OSX install Disc and put it into the drive.

Now restart your computer and hold down the "C" key until it boots from the CD/DVD

Select the language of choice and hit next.

On the next window you have the option to install MacOSX. DONT!

Go to utilities and select Disk Utility.

Select your internal HD and hit the button that Say's Verify and Repair.

That should fix 99.99% of disk errors.

If you have done all this and it still doesn't work.

One: Make sure you have installed all updates

Two: Disconnect any and all peripherals

Three: Restart.

Still not working?

Do you have an Apple Store in your area?

Call them and set up an appointment with the Genius Bar.

They can more than likely fix the problem right there, if not your Macbook is still under warranty so they will ship it off for the proper fix.

Sorry if i repeated any of your own attempts, just covering all bases.

Best of Luck
