I believe they do. In fact I believe that my cat was the first to know.
My first pregnancy, my cat kept following me all over and being very affectionate towards me like rubbing his sides up against my legs when I was standing and when I'd sit, he'd jump in my lap and curl up and purrrr and more of course.
It was all so strange, I thought he was just going through some weird phase but then found out I was 6wks pregnant later on and everything clicked in my head when I came home from having the preg. test at the hospital that day and he started acting like that again as soon as I walked in.

I believe so... The only reason I say this is that while pregnant with my daughter, my notoriously non-affectionate female cat became enchanted with me. She would sleep directly by my abdomen and wake me in the morning while bathing my forehead and hairline.
This is the ONLY time it happened before or after pregnancy.

By the way Congratulations! :) I just found out I am pregnant again (can't wait for the cat to notice! )

Good luck !:)

I really think they do know - animals are very intuitive (i mean they can sense earthquakes and stuff right). I have a kitten and since i got pregnant she's constantly lying on my lap with her head resting on my abdomen too, purring really loudly! The funny thing is now that i am 30wks pregnant every time she lies with her head on my "bump" purring, my baby kicks! lol. It is the cutest thing watching what looks like the cat and my baby interact! What makes it funnier is that my baby won't move for the father or grandparents or anyone (as soon as they touch my stomach baby stops kicking) but will react to myself and the cat!

I think this child is like me.... an animal lover! LOL.

One of my cats definitely knows. She has had kittens before, and I think she can just tell. She insists on laying down on my tummy every chance she gets, and has been since I was about 10 weeks. If she hears a funny noise when she is laying there, she runs to go check it out. I think she's trying to protect the baby. It's really funny because the cat's purring wakes up the baby, and she starts kicking at the cat. My other cat and my dog ignore me, but my dog did sniff like crazy at my friend's stomach when she first found out she was pregnant. I do think that they can have kind of a 6th sense about it, but I wouldn't depend on your pets to tell you if you're pregnant.

I'm not sure if there will ever be a for sure way to fidn this out but they do say animals have some sort of instict about that. I swore my dog knew when I was pregant. But don't let your cat be your pregnancy test. Just go find out if you are and then you will know if your cat was right! Good luck with that !

i think any animal has some kinda of sense that lets them know when their owner is pregnant.. i have a lab and he will not leave me alone! he follows me EVERYWHERE and always lays near me etc. but def don't take them for the final word, take a test, if your cat is right, that would be really cool though! Congrats(if you are) and good luck!

Some cats do seem to know. Take a pregnancy test and find out.

They sure do!!! My male cat also knew when I was going into labor. He started humping my arm and I kept having to throw him off into the floor. He wouldn't quit. It's like your body give off a hormone scent or something. My female dog also acted weird with me when I was preggers
