Of course they should. But that is going to eventually put alot of union workers out of a job, so the changeover is going to have to be slow.
BTW, combustion engines are 19 century technology.
And your nervous and digestive systems are technologies that are at least four thousand years old depending on who you talk to. We've modified those technologies, but no one has been able to either improve them or better them. But we still use them, or die trying.
It's not the age of the technolosy that is the issue. It's the waste.

L.E.D. Light Emitting Diode does not create enough CANDLE POWER to be standard on all production vehicles.
If you want to increase the CANDLE POWER you can use H.I.B.
High Intensity Bulbs.
But if you were the one building the car and you can install light bulbs for around $2.00 or another-stronger-more intense-more COSTLY product, where will you make the greatest profit?

I agree with Rick. LED's light output less than nothing during daylight hours. I've seen no combination that works well yet. I've got a two year old Toyota Camry and you can't read the clock, or the outside temp. or other silly crap on the dash over the radio. Give me freaking analog gages again PLEASE. No winkers, dinkers, tinkers, mystery drips, dribbles, cans, pots & pans. thermal candy canes. Jee-sum their insulting my college education!
