I'm sorry, Jesus + 12 = 13.
Anyway, in the old days, black was a positive magical color, and 13 was a revered and happy number.
Then the Christians invaded the Celtic North,
and demonized all that was holy.

THANK YOU! I didn't think I was EVER going to read the truth about the Knights Templar and Friday the 13th. Another reason that it is thought of as "unlucky" is because there are 13 witches in one coven...the Christians despise anything that is Holy to pagans...that is if they can't take and make it as their own history like they did with the christmas tree, or should I say YULE tree!

It is not unlucky, it is just a number. Geez! People just find excuses as to why they are having bad days and use digits; color; mirorrs as an way of having the answer/excuse. It is just bull. 13 is just a number. And people are full of crap!

I always thought it was just folklore but after reading about ~13 people at the last supper & judas~ from the other answers...I begining to think not.
