Some times it works, some times it doesn't. If I restart it, it usually works again.

I would agree with the card going bad. If its an onboard card you can replace it with a pci slotted card and use that instead.

when its not working right click on My computer icon, go to device manager and check to see it has a yellow explanation mark next to the sound card, if so you have sound card driver problems.

I think you have a bad connection some where. Take it in and get it looked at. I had to do it with mine. Good Luck

sounds like your sound card is going bad, nothing much you can do. there could be some updated drivers for it maybe
