Currently, I don't carry a diaper bag anymore! wooo hoo! But we'll be having our second baby in August, so back to diaper bags we go :) Towards the end of needing one with my son, I picked up a Lands End diaper bag at a yard sale (for $5!) It looks like a nice messenger bag. And has way more room than it looks like it should. There is a velcro pocket in the very front. After that there are 3 zippered sections. The first pocket is for extra outfits and blankets. The middle is for diapers, wipes, etc. There's even a clip for your keys. The last pocket has a changing mat, a separate carrier for things like medicine (it's leek proof), and it also has a zippered bag for wet items. The very back of the bag has another velcro pocket. On the outside there's an insulated pocket for 2 bottles, and there are two pouches (one on either side) for sippy cups or a drink for mom. You can throw it in the washer and it comes back out looking new. Lots of room, lots of extras - love it :)

You could talk to the manager at your local grocery store. I'm sure they could order things in bulk for you.
