Paramedics and EMTs don't have X-ray vision. They can't tell you if it's broken or not (unless bones are sticking out or something). Paramedics aren't trained to be doctors; they are trained to provide life saving and stabilizing interventions until a higher level of care can be reached. You'll need to see a doctor to find out exactly what's wrong with your knee. Knees really aren't something to mess with; there's a lot of delicate tendons and such. Have you let your parents know what's going on yet? If not, tell them. Have them take you to your doctor for x-rays. That way you can find out precisely what's wrong.
Meanwhile, you could try putting an ice pack on your knee (make sure to wrap it in a towel so you don't cause cold damage to your knee). It also might help to take an anti-inflammatory, like Advil (only if you aren't allergic, and be sure to check with your parents first).
Take care!

Hey...ok if it swallen, the get an old stocking and put electric salt crystals (at chemist or supermarket) in the stocking. Wrap it around your knee in bed. By morning the salts have drawn out the fluid creating the swelling.
You cant really help much about the bruising, but make sure that you are maintaining adequate blood flow to the area (this will increase recovery). Make sure your leg is aways warm and that you are massaging the whole leg a couple of times a day.
Dont try and move it straight away. Slowly over time increase the area you are moving it.

I would go to the ER. Knees are not something you want to screw with. The broozing sounds bad and you may have tore stuff up inside like a bursa with would dump fluid around the knee. Another thing you have to be really carefull about is infection. Though the chlorinated water is good, locker rooms are notoriously dirty and even the smallest little scratch on knee can be the door way to a dangerous infection.

you totally need to ice it at least a couple times a day for about 20 minutes. I know this is hard, but do your best to give your knee a rest. You might want to get crutches if it really hurts and lay off the physical activity for a while. You probably banged it up pretty bad and if the swelling doesn't seem to go down and your knee doesn't seem any better in a few days, I would go get an X-ray.

Put some ice on it and give it some time. I'm sure it will be okay in a matter of time, But I was bumped by a car and my knee has never been the same. It is pretty much fine but it still hurts every now and then. So good luck!

Ice it for 15-20 minutes at a time, whenever you get the chance to sit for that amount time. Keep it elevated above the heart to reduce swelling. Take some Tylenol for pain. Try wrapping your knee in those ace bandages, you know, the beige stretchy kind. They help with swelling too.

Ok well it's probably just swollen and bruised if you can still walk on it.
Maybe your kneecap has been dislocated?
Sleep on it and if its worse in the morning then go to A&E

Definitely go get some x-rays and see if you broke it. If not, just elevation and ice to reduce the swelling.

Without x-rays NO one can know what is wrong. See your doc to find out if you did any damage or not.
