I'd like to use my tv as a computer monitor. My Gateway media center desktop has an S-Video out jack, but TV is only coax in. Is a plug made for this conversion?

You can buy a converter at radio shack, however, dont get your hopes too hi! A TV makes a poor monitor for your PC! The TV resolution isnt near as hi and the characters and screen WILL look blurry.

sounds like you have an old tv, using coax will not give you very good quality for a computer screen at all if they even make a converter, i'm sure they do but it might be hard to find.
i would get a new tv

Not to my knowledge. the TV would have to be a monitor and have a high resolution. Otherwise it would not interface with your computer.

check any store that sells audio/video equipment
walmart - futureshop - Staples - the source / circuit city
etc.
any of those stores should have the proper adapter / connector for you
