It has recently been discovered that babies do not have the proper enzymes for digesting anything but milk for the first 6 months of life. Introducing food earlier than that can cause digestive problems and put your child at high risk for food allergies later in life. When you DO introduce food, you should only introduce one new food at a time, with several days in between to watch for allergic reactions. Start with cereal, then veggies, then fruits and meat. If you start with fruits, some babies will later refuse to take veggies because they prefer sweetness. It can take up to 13 introductions of a food before a child will like and accept it, so dont give up if they wrinkle their nose. If your child has ALREADY been on foods for months anyway, then i dont see any reason that 2nd foods would hurt them any more. They are basically just in bigger jars, and some different types of foods, the consistency isnt really different. Good luck, and remember, for the first year, breast milk or formula should still be a staple in their diet, even if it means they dont sleep as long.

It's fine to give her stage 2 now. She'll really enjoy the variety and it's more food in the jar too.

Yes its fine especially if she is already well used to solids.
Why don't you mix up some vegetables for her yourself? It's much cheaper and you can get a lot more variety.

attempt giving him breakfast too. Cereal and a fruit for breakfast, greens and fruit for lunch, and cereal and greens for dinner (the newborn nutrition end result and greens of course) If he's hungry then feed him what he needs.
