once again this is for a researching project on discrimination but i am curious as to what you think when you see an 'emo'.
please be as honest as possible, it will help me. :)

Personally I know quite a few people that have been told they 'look emo', but they say this is how they've dressed their whole lives and they are happy. But other people perceive those dressed 'emo' as cutters as depressed people who listen to dark music!
I think its all rubbish to be honest, no one should categorise like that, everyones different.

An emo is some one who is very emotional. Someone who looks down on everything. I would't say they are freaks, but someone who has been hurt very badly in the past.A lot of people just think they are people who dress punk.

emo is a subgenre of punk rock. I dont see them at all. The term is used incorrectly most of the time.

emo - stands for emotional....
anything with high levels of emotion is considered emo
you dont have to dress in tight pants and wear eyeliner to be emo, thats just a sereotype...

a freak! no some-1 who cuts there wrists!! i mean most emos dont .. but they are classed as emo.. emo= cutting wrists! ... wears dark clothes... listen 2 punk music.. wears clothes like vans and stuff... like a goth but not a goth

I think it is one of those little guys who look like they could be models and they wear their emotions on their sleeves, their ripped punk styled black and white striped sleeves, cut off with fingerless gloves, doc martens boots and a little black eyeliner.

My view is it's like the goth culture, minus all the cool attire, intellectualism, and nice music; and replaced with extra whining for no reason.
