Yes, we lived where we were told and NO it wasn't in no fancy areas. YES there were wealthy blacks who, like the whites, kept the average black man at bay.
Yes the projects FAILED and having people live ontop of each other like animals breeds animal mentality.
Why don't they have the same problems in Canada...they have plenty of low income housing?
On the whole the US mistreats its citizens, they did it with segragation, with intenment camps, with the draft, with Tuskegee, with the Red Scare, with the klan, with slavery, it goes on and on and on

I don't think they "trap" anyone in slums, most of that is just self-destruction, but they do come up with countless counterproductive programs so they can say they're "helping" and try to create the impression that Blacks are helpless without "whitey's" help. According to Economist Thomas Sowell, Blacks were doing quite well climbing the economic ladder by themselves until Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" welfare programs.

This is a loaded question the honest short answer is because of our societal structure... We have to have people living in poverty to keep the system running.
