They start 'em off young, it's a marketing strategy. In the world we live in today people have grown to think that when you want to talk to someone they should always be reachable... They sell the idea of kids having phones by telling parents they need them in case of emergencies. We no longer live in the world we did just 5 or 10 years ago. I think it's silly too!

There are phones out there that are targeted at that specific crowd, they have minimal features and can only be used to call the numbers programmed into them, and the child cannot unlock or change them, it's under parental lock.

Communication to children when they are away from their parents. With the safety features they can call mom or dad at the push of a button.

Its called Marketing, they want to sell phones, to the kids. Not so different from the Winston and Marboro. They want to see products to any body with a dollar.
