We don't have a democracy or anything close. We have a democratically elected dictatorship (and a corrupt one at that).
I would install a new government by the people and for the people where every major decision is decided by votes and people are educated as to be able to vote wisely.

It is possible to do but would take a lot of thinking on my part to fully answer and I am a little tired at the moment. It would have to be legally done through elections-no military takeovers. Get a policy of government together with like minded friends and then stand for election. Print your policies and use a really eye-catching attention grabbing way of getting the public to take you seriously. If you have a police record or anything to hide and you are starting to be successful then these skeletons will come out of the closet. Good luck.

This may sound a bit daft but the problem is not with democracy per se. Representative democracy allows those we elect to vote how they think fit - which may or may not reflect the opinions of those who elected them. Direct democracy, where those elected are delegates with a direct, specific mandate to vote in a particular way on any issue, would probably be better than the current system which is open to all sorts of petty corruption and backroom deals in the name of our representatives voting with their conscience.

Democracy as we currently experience it was hard fought for and hard won. People having an equal voice in the running of society is essential if we are not to plunge into barbarism. A study of history should have taught us that, if nothing else.

Start with a constitution as this would give us future protection from rogue governments.
Rather than the social democratic approach of regulating everything people do, I would adopt a libertarian approach of giving people maximum freedom but severe punishment when they do commit crime.

i always think if all party's worked together we could solve many of our country's problems the money that it must cost to keep the government in power plus those in opposition as everyone there is there for the money if they had to work together and were held accountable for all errors then we would truly be grate Britain again
