He will be a nfl star for one height means nothing brees is nothing even 6'0 or run a 4.8 yet he is a nfl star. While smith can run a 4.5 and is around 5'11. Secondly his accuracy is what many running qbs dont have an he has it.

Every player that goes into the Draft has potential. But just cuz your a first pick doesnt mean your great.
Example: Colston was a 7th rounder and became the best rookie this year (in my opinion, but he missed out from a few games) (Young was good too)

So Troy Smith can be good. It all depends where he goes, how he follows the systems and if he's willing to work for it. Who knows he could be horrible....he could be a hall of famer. You just have to wait and see how hard he works at being the best

But yes he does have potential

he has "potential" but it is not enough to be a star. Troy smith lacks alot of things top rated QB have. some is fixable, some is not.

some problems his height (very short, will have trouble throwing over linemen, let alone look over linemen). His Vision. he is very tunnel visioned during this throw. it causes some trouble during his release, causing problems that could occur, like balls that are easy to swat down (in the NFL guys are taller). he also tends to have a habbit of moving outside of the pocket a bit more than he should (defensive ends are faster) i'm not saying that moving out of the pocket is bad, but he does it when he does not need to. (in the NFL the Defensive Ends will take advantage of that).

he has some good parts, but as a 'star'...well i doubt he will get to that level. he is a great college player, but that means he's better at beating teams with 1 or 2 good guys, in the nfl all the players on the team were once that 1 or 2 good guys in college

maybe, but i think that he has a better chance being converted to reciever. 6' isn't terribly small for a wr, and he runs like a 4.4. he'd have fit well into a bill cower- ken wizenhunt system where trick plays are designed for converted qb like antwaan randle el and hines ward (illinios and georgia respectively)
he's settled down as a passer, and only runs when he needs to, unlike micheal vick, who runs whenever he feels like it. troy's got a big arm and is smart enough to learn a complicated offense. i heard that jon greuden was drooling over his game saavy during the pro bowl. with the controversy with Chris Simms, i could see him going to tb in 1st-2nd round. if Smith gets drafted to them, and the bucs pick up a decent wr (gonzo is a fast possesion reciever that takes his job seriously) i could see them being a good team in a few years. unfortunatly, Buckeye qbs have a bad habit of being busts in the NFL.

Yeah I think he has the potential, but I doubt he will be a NFL star QB. He's small, he doesnt have that strong of an arm. What he does well works in college, but he's gonna get the **** beaten out of him in the NFL.

He is a great athlete but he is short for an NFL style QB. SO I do think he will be drafted but I doubt he will play at QB. He may be used in the style that Antoine Randle El is used as a WR who may throw from time to time.

Because he has always found a way to win. Yes, he has as good a shot as anyone. He has the desire, the skill, and with a few breaks with a good coach and offense, he'll chalk up the wins. Which any qb will tell is more important than stats.

No. He isn't a good enough pure passer. He doesn't have the size. He doesn't have the running skills of a Vick or Young. He is a back-up at best.

I do not believe so. I think his size is going to be a concern.
