I've never taken them without medical supervision. I took 50 mg that didn't work. The next month I took 100 mg and got pregnant and had a successful outcome. I don't think it's a good idea to take any prescription medication without medical supervision. Do you know when in your cycle you are supposed to take them?

I have taken Clomid to conceive all three of my pregnancies. Some women experience some side effects, but the worst one I had was irritability. I would never take Clomid without supervision of a doctor though because it can cause hyperstimulation in your ovaries. When I was on it, I had to have monthly exams or ultrasounds to check my ovaries. Most doctors start out giving a dosage of only 50 mgs per day for 5 days. If you don't ovulate on 50, then the dosage is increased by 50 mgs. each cycle until they determine the right dosage. It's always best to take the minimal amount that will get the job done, which is help you ovulate.

Before taking this medicine
You should not use Clomid if you are allergic to clomiphene, or if you have:
- abnormal vaginal bleeding;
- an ovarian cyst that is not related to polycystic ovary syndrome;
- past or present liver disease;
- a tumor of your pituitary gland;
- an untreated or uncontrolled problem with your thyroid or adrenal gland; or
- if you are pregnant.
To make sure Clomid is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
- endometriosis or uterine fibroids.
Do not use Clomid if you are already pregnant. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about the possible effects of Clomid on a new pregnancy.
Clomiphene can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. This medication may slow breast milk production in some women. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Using Clomid for longer than 3 treatment cycles may increase your risk of developing an ovarian tumor. Ask your doctor about your specific risk.
Fertility treatment may increase your chance of having multiple births (twins, triplets). These are high-risk pregnancies both for the mother and the babies. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about this risk.

You should not take Clomid without being under the supervision of a doctor. Have you ever seen those shows with the couples who have 6 babies at once? While it is very rare, it can happen! You never know how your body will respond to it, and a doctor will monitor your ovaries to see how many eggs you will produce. Also, there is a risk of overstimulating your ovaries, a very painful and dangerous condition. Don't do it without a doctor!

I took clomid back in the day. You have to watch it because it causes multiple eggs to be produced which will result in possible multiple pregnancies (hence, twins, triplets, etc)
I wouldn't think they would work after only 30 days, but there is always a chance. If you feel pregnant, run to the drug store and grab a pregnancy test. They aren't that expensive. Then you will know right now and stop worrying over it. Besides, since you are obviously trying to get pregnant, you shouldn't be doing anything that would harm the pregnancy anyway.

I've taken Clomid and gotten pregnant and I've taken Clomid and not gotten pregnant. It's not right for everyone. I sure wouldn't take it without having had the tests to be sure it's right for me and I definitely wouldn't take it without medical supervision.
