Black velvet pants are cool. I don't think they ever go completely out of style, you just have to wear them with the right tops and to the right places.

It really depends on the person and what you were with it. They usually look good on people with long legs, and work well with a satin blouse---great dress-up idea. As for being in style, they're kind of in the middle, they're not in style, but they're not out. You can definitly were them, though, without being shunned by fashion freaks.
