Some of the elderly are very rude and I have had a basket pushed on my back because I was at the grocery store and they wanted to be where I was, and I was pregnant at the time. He didn't apologize, nothing, just said I was in his way. So yeah the majority are rude. Couldn't agree more. Good question by the way.

i wouldn't go as far as to say they are rude they are just angry at the way they have to live these days they themselves have been brought up on respect & have grown to expect it from the youth, now you have to admit that society has went downhill so much or has it?i would also say that times change, people change, ways of life change & us the younger generation have to adjust &so must they,IE equal opportunitys for women they where so oppressed a few decades ago & now they have been liberated.that is just one of many major changes that have made the elderly what they are.

No I don't think they are ignorant.......Maybe some are a little rude but hell I would be to if I was on 10 different meds and it took me all day to get three things done because every bone in my body hurts. Kids are to busy to help and everyone pushing them out of the way.Cut them some slack for one day that will be you my dear.

Grow up kid. One day you will be old if you are lucky. At least most of them can spell. And yes they fought in wars so cut them a bit of slack. You have to remember that sometimes they don't hear so welll or see so well but there will never be another generation like them.

I like them. Personally, I think you need to click on that spell check right above the entry box so we can understand you better. You get what you give when it comes to the elderly. If you are kind and respectful, they will be likewise.

I am sorry to say that a lot of older people are extremely ignorant and rude,I find this very regretable because I am heading that way ( older) myself,we should all remember, the way you treat people is reflected in the way they treat you!

I think the older generation are rude and do push you out of the way

If I held the door open for people it was always the older people that didn't even have the courtesy to say thank you

If every step you took was excruciatingly painful ... and saw, with your own two eyes ... what this world has become within the last 60 years, you'd be mad at the world too.

You should speak up and tell them "you want respect?? well respect is earned and rudeness loses respect so get with the program"

I think they are probably exasperated with young people who can't spell or write a complete sentence, who think the world should move out of the way for them.
