Does anyone know a good place to buy a ready-made crib. One that doesn't require too much or maybe even no assembly. I know it sounds silly but, my fiance` is not the most handiest of men, and is not looking forward to putting a crib together.

MOst cribs come disassembled because most do not fit through standard size house/apartment/condo doors and pathways. We are moving and have to take our daughters crib apart because it will not fit put together

Most re-sale shops they are already built but normally break it down once you purchase it. If your door can fit it go to a resale shop and load it up in a truck or Craigslist maybe

My husband isn't handy either, but the crib went together really easily. The instructions were really simple and all the hardware and tools were in the box. The only problem we had was putting the drop-side rail on, but that would have been easy too if hubby had read that part of the instructions.

Unless you buy one used, I don't think you'll find one thats already assembled. And if it is, you may have a hard time getting it through the nursery door. But it really wasn't too hard to put the crib together, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I purchased the crib for my son at Walmart. It converts into a toddler bed as well. It came in 5 pieces and didn't require any tools to assemble it. It has little notches in it that just click into place. When you want it to be a toddler bed you just remove one of the sides and that's it. My son is almost 3 years old and we've never had any problems with the crib. We're actually going to use it for my daughter when she's born in 2 1/2 months.

I think all require some assembly. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to fit it through the door. Some stores might offer assembly for a fee. However, I think most cribs now require minimal assembly.

It's not a silly question at all. In all honesty, I've found that using a fold-up baby playpen with a firm bottom is just as good as a baby crib. In my opinion much cheaper and easy! They are very easy storage as well. If you want to ever move the playpen, fold it up and carry it to the loving room, etc. so you can spend time with your baby. =) Good luck with the pregnancy!

We are going to pay to have our crib delivered and set up by the delivery men from the kid furnituire store. We bought a bunch of furniture for the nursery and they are bringing it all for one delivery/set-up fee.

If you can afford it, this might be a good option for you.

If you go into any furniture store or department store.. you can ask them for an already assembled crib or ask for them to assemble it. I had it done when my husband was deployed and they had no problem doing that for me. I would just ask around. goodluck

Y'know, you can help put the crib together, and if your fiance is really THAT un-handy, recruit a good friend of yours to help you put it together without the fiance.

Do as I am doing and buy a portacot. There is no difference between this and a normal cot except it is cheaper, easier to put together and easier to move around if needed.

All cribs have to be assembled but if you go to like Wal-Mart or Sears, J.C.Penney and purchase it, they will assemble it for you if you ask. Congrats and God bless!
