to change my major from psychology to automotive technology? I'm not feeling psy. anymore and I've always wanted to work with cars. I don't want to get stuck doing something for the rest of my life that doesn't completely fulfill my interests. I like cars but I don't know if it's ideal for me to really try to do this. Please, any good advice?...........

I think you should talk to your academic advisor about this. It all depends on how serious you are about your new major, how far behind it will put you in school, class requirements, etc.

Just make sure you are happy with what you are doing. But DO consult your adviser.

Good for you - go for the change. But I would re-examine your end destination (ie: why are you not feeling psych and what exactly do you want to do in automotive besides being interested in them?).

Figure out what makes you tick, then pick a few different possible avenues to explore. This is what a guidance counselor is trained to help you with.

Go forth and discover thyself. You'll be glad you took a hard look at you in about ten years.

I agree with the recommendation on your seeing your academic advisor. Also ask him/her to arrange for you to take a vocational aptitude test. The result would point out which line of work you might be best suited for. You can then choose your major in a more informed manner rather than doing so purely by hunches. Good luck!

This jump is way too large, you should investigate career options that go with other parts of your studies.
