I mean, what is your theory? Were the abducted by aliens? In pergatory (if ther was such a thing)? or is it just what it appears to be? Best answer goes to the most interesting theory

If what was going on anything but them physically being on an island, like someone having a dream or being in between living and dead, the audience would hunt the producers down and hurt them. Nobody wants to learn that this is all a dream after all the time and emotion they've put into this show.
I think it is what it appears to be

I believe that people who have had really bad situations that what they did during those events led them to have fate ponder. thus, these chosen rarities have a connection with each other. All the stories of each character that i witnessed were negitive and they all were drawn to this island.

Ummmm.... maybe they're stuck in a time warp, and all time freezes when you step inside the island, that would explane alot!

My sister got SO hooked on this show. Then she got my mom hooked. Now they are trying to convert me to watching it. I think find out they were VERY drunk, and stole a boat, and ended up on the island.
