Yes, however, the quality will not be at it's best if in MPEG2 (DVD) format.... such a file would be close to 9GB & require a recoder to fit it on a 4.7GB DVD.

Nero 7 will provide all the tools you need (Nero Capture, Nero Vision & Nero Recode) to do this.

Well worth buying.

FYI ... other formats like Xvid or DivX (both have AVI extensions but use advanced compression) will allow you to maintain almost perfect quality of the original Video (file) while only 20% the size of an MPEG2 file.

Xvid files are playable on most newer console DVD players.
Look for the Xvid logo on the box.

It depends on the quality of the video. I use high quality MPEG-2 and I get 60 minutes per 4.7GB DVD.

180 Minutes would be very low quality.

it depends on what form you gonna use , if wmv , yes it's gonna fit , if mpeg ..mmm almost but if dat no way ... so the best way to do that is to transfer it to the computer and then convert it to wmv or mpeg .. to convert to wmv use windows movie maker "comes with Windows " ...
if u meant to transfer directly from VHS to DVD , i don't think it's gonna fit cuz i i usually transfer 120m to 4.7g DVD and i leave it almost full
