Is this what they are teaching kids today? What happened to Dickens or Melville? Why not read a classic novel?

Here are a few I pulled off Amazon.com. I haven't read them - on occasion I've had some on the topic for sale (I sell on-line) but not presently. I do rely at times on the reviews given for books when I am looking for a specific topic. So here we go...
