My husband is currently in Afghanistan and it sucks that we're not spending our first Valentines as a married couple together, but anyways I was wondering what should I do for him or get him on that special day. I already sent him one of those big Valentines greeting cards with some of our pictures in it last week so it will get there on time, but I feel I should do something more for him. Anyone have any ideas?

Soldiers overseas need levity in their lives more than anything else! They have PXs over there so they can get things they need for hygiene and everyday use. Everything you send should be fun. Here are things that always go over well:
Silly string
Water guns
Funny postcards
Homemade cookies, brownies or other baked goods that don't spoil easily.
Swipe something nonperishable (such as a brownie or cookie) from his favorite restaurant and send it over
A poster of dogs playing poker (or some other image that you know makes him laugh)
Candy
DVDs of hard to find movies-the PX only carries a few basics, and when soldiers aren't on mission they have a LOT of free time to kill.
True crime magazines
Comic books
Video games-acquire an Atari or original Nintendo with some classic titles (Mario Bros., Metroid, Legend of Zelda)
Video tapes of his favorite TV shows-we used to record stuff my Dad liked and send a tape every week. Make sure you record any NASCAR races or games he might want to see, because they're on at weird times if they show them overseas.
Books of crossword puzzles, word searches, sudoku, brain teasers, or elementary school joke books- Like I said, when they're behind the wire there's a lot of down time.
OK, I think I'm out of stuff, but I hope you've got some ideas. Go to Spencer's, dollar stores, even thrift shops and look for something that will make him laugh or keep him entertained. Drippy romantic stuff won't have a lasting effect, but anything that is funny can raise morale. Espescially stuff that can be shared with the group; if his platoon's morale is up, then in the end it benefits you because your husband will be safer!

Since you both are married its even better... have you ever taken any sexy pictures of yourself? You can either go somewhere and have them taken or have one of your close girlfriends take pictures of you. I'm pretty sure he will love that!!!!

Send him a package marked "for your eyes only". Put in pics of you naked - as nasty as you can both stomach. You playing with yourself, your toys...write on the back of the pics "thinking of you" and "as soon as you're back, you have a new "mission"".

well if i think u should put together a coolage. right now he is missing family. if u have kids use there pictures, your pics, and his emidiate family and put something together, like a blanket with pics in them or a scrap book, something like that.
