Chuck Howley, LB, Dallas Cowboys

Dallas linebacker Chuck Howley became the first defensive player to be named Most Valuable Player in a Super Bowl. But the honor had a hollow ring for Howley, who also became the first player from a losing team to be named MVP.

The Cowboys lost to the Colts in super bowl V 16-13 as rookie Jim O'Brien made a 32-yard field goal with five seconds remaining to win the game. Howley intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble to win the honor, although his effort was overshadowed by Baltimore's eventual win.

Super Bowl V- Colts 16 Cowboys 13.

Even though The Colts turned the ball over 7 times, they eventually won on a 32 yard filed goal by rookie place kicker, Jim O'Brien. The field goal was set up by an interception by Colts linebacker Mike Curtis #32. Curtis returned the ball to The Dallas 28 yard line. Baltimore ran one play before calling timeout leaving 8 seconds on the clock when O'Brien hit the field goal.

Howley intercepted 2 passes in the game (including one in the end-zone) and recovered a fumble. Not only was Howley the first defensive player to win an MVP he was also the first non-quarterback to win the Honor. The next defensive player to win the honor would Miami Dolphins safety, Jake Scott, who would intercept two passes in a 14-7 Dolphin victory over The Redskins in Super Bowl VII.

A level one user using all their points to ask simple questions is a pretty good indication of a cheater. I'll be following those questions very closely. I'm now interested in the outcome of them all.
