It is not ok to kill in America. That is why we have a legal system and lots of people in jail and on death row. Self defense is not an excuse - it is a reason. If someone is attacking me and it is my life or theirs, I have a reason to kill that person - self preservation.

I wish for the same thing all the time. My brother went to Iraq and he ended up in the hospital. He had to have multiple surgery's just be be able to move or anything. My brother in law is there now and he was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago because the other side bombed him and the bomb blew up in his ear causing hearing lose. And there was bleeding from his left ear and the doctors are trying to figure out where the bleeding is coming from. they think that it's some where in his brain. If everyone could just get along and make world peace there would be a lot of lives saved. And a lot of family's would be able to grow up and grow old with there moms and dad's. Brothers and sister's and Aunts and Uncles. Wouldn't that be nice.

Since when did become okay to kill in America? I don't think anyone has the right to take someone Else's life unless they are trying to hurt you or someone you love and that is called self defense.

where did you get the idea that it is "okay" to kill in america?
Lets give your thoughts some perspective here...
Most people in american are decent! sure they may run stop signs or eat grapes out of the supermarket but I dont think that they condone MURDER!
I would be surprised if you knew ONE person who killed anyone.
I would be surprised if you knew one person who knew one person who killed someone!
Obviously, this excludes what you see on the news. I mean that you PERSONALLY know!
I would think that that would be the same for most people.
Now lets take a few states with high homicide rates.
Last year there were 500 murders in Chicago.
Sure that is alot but try to think how many people actually live in Chicago. Now of those people that were murdered how many of them were just sitting around minding their own business on the way to church or what have you.
Most of the murder victims from what I could tell were NOT upstanding citizens...am I saying that that justifies their murders? Of course not but what I am saying is that they certianly could have done more to minimize thier risks (not using drugs, breaking into homes etc.)

Please take a second to think about what you see when you watch the news.

Lumping 'all americans' into one monolithic thought is usually problematic

There is a vast difference between "killing" and "murder". Every person kills every day in some way. Spend a few moments to consider that thought.
Killing is an action which may or may not be self-realized. Murder is killing, but with extreme prejudice toward another living being.
No...we cannot just "all get along". It is unfortunate.

It isn't but people do it all over the world. Self defense is okay, though.

who says its okay to kill anywhere? if it was okay, i don't think you'll be here asking questions because someone might have found a way to "take you out."
