Yes I know - Hence the question is that what YOU want ?
Or is that just what you think is likely to happen . In theory it is you the people who run the nation and it is therefore the Presidents job to do as he is told (by his people ) Not the other way around as it so often seems to be in America Canada and the UK - The big democracies

Captain Obvious!
The Queen is still our head of state and the Govenor general is her appointed representitive in Canada .
While Canada was "under British rule" isn't quite accurate . We fought like hell to keep our Crown and many Americans who refused to commit treason against thier Monarch ran here for freedom and protection just like a lot of the black slaves .
And yes we gave it to them - God save the Queen and thank god for the freedom we enjoy here

No, I don't want the president to go to war with Iran.
Given our current military commitments, a successful ground invasion would require the reinstatement of the draft. This would give up whatever shred of political credibility we have left. Iran would mine the gulf, Venezuela would embargo, the price of oil would skyrocket, and our economy would fall apart.
No good can be derived from invading Iran, except a slightly increased sense of security for Israel.

I want our President to respond to how Iran wants to handle matters. If they show themselves to be peaceful and a good international neighbor, then there is no need to go to war with them. If they continue with inflammatory rhetoric like "wiping other countries off the map" and their right to develop weapons of mass destruction, they are asking for a war, and are likely to have their request granted.
Peaceful coexistence is possible only with rational, civilized, trustworthy neighbors. If any of those qualities are lacking, that endangers peaceful coexistence (ie there will either be no peace or no coexistence).
How is it the US is able to coexist peacefully with Canada, Mexico, the UK, France, Australia, Germany, Japan, China, Russia, pretty much all of Europe and South America, and a whole lot of other nations? They are civilized nations that favor diplomacy and detente over death and destruction. We fought wars against Mexico, England, Canada (while it was under british rule), France (when we were under British rule), Germany, Italy, and Japan, and had the Cold War and war by proxy with Russia and China. Yet we now have peace because we were able rationally to resolve our differences and enter into mutually-beneficial treaties and trade agreements. Why not with Iran and the extremist Muslim bloc? Because THEY currently do not prefer a peaceful resolution. What we want does not matter, they will get what they want, whether that is war or peace, diplomacy or destruction.

If the Us goes to war against Iran, its the Us final screw up.
The Us has never gone to war against a real enemy except in WWII, and then most of the fighting was done by the USSR.
If the Us goes to war against Iran I think it will be the perfect excuse for Russia and China to crush the Us.

America isn't the "Gong Show" and polls are usually meaningless. We elect people to do the best job they can and hopefully they do it. You aren't very well informed on how the U.S. works.

Iran must not be invaded when other legal actions could be taken against it to stop its irresponsible nuclear arms build-up.

The poll does not prove that we want to go to war with Iran, it shows that we think that we will.

I want Iran to stop making nukes and fomenting violence in Iraq and elsewhere.
Iran can stop on its own - which I would prefer - or they will be MADE to stop, which in my opinion would be what they deserve.
