I have torn muscles, tendons and bone chips in my shoulder. Is there a way to get this fixed without surgery? I know the muscles will heal with physical therapy and the bone chips will eventually disipate. I am more worried about the tendons. They just have a slight tear.

It depends on the depth and size of the tear. Full thickness tears are generally harder to rehabilitate, yet those that extend medially only a small distance may do fine. In those with larger, full thickness tears, 90% of those people will not regain overhead use of their arm. If your "slight tear" is only a partial thickness tear, then you may do quite well with PT.

Best to discuss the prognosis with a surgeon.

I have a full thicknes tear and a partial tear in my shoulder tendons. I have an appointment to see an orthopaedic surgeon soon, and I fear what the prognosis will be.

I tore my right rotator cuff in 2000, it still hurts and I can barely throw a football without tons of stretching. My doctore told me I needed surgery. You will definitely need surgery or it will never feel the sameas it was.
