That's terrible, but honestly, that's not even the worst part of it. The two border patrol agents WHO DID NOTHING WRONG are in prison. The drug smuggler was given immunity to testify against the border patrol agents. And now one of them was beaten in prison.
John and Ken (from KFI here in LA) have been all over this story; they're almost the only people in the country talking about the injustices in this case. Sara Carter from the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin has been doing some excellent reporting on this story as well.
I can't believe all the things wrong with this story. Two agents sentenced to long prison sentences, the immunity given to the drug smuggler, the convictions, the prison sentences ... and Bush sits in Washington letting it all happen. It makes me angry to even think about it. These guys have to be pardoned. Now. It's that simple.
And the borders? They should have been closed a long time ago. I don't even want to get started on that one.

I'm Socialist for g-ds sake, but when 2 US Border Guards are arrested and imprisoned for trying to stop a drug smuggler from entering your country, there is something wrong, seriously wrong especially when the AGs office gives him immunity to testify against the guards. It's pretty bad here in Canada also. The police do their jobs only to let some bleeding heart let the criminals off with a slap on the wrist. Both our Justice systems need to be seriously shaken up. Not all Socialist are "bleeding hearts", most believe in common sense. The whole story has made the papers here in Canada and most people, regardless of politics feel as I do. If Bush wants to save face at all he had best come up with Presidential pardons & soon.

This makes me very mad, and some people in here think they can just shoot out "because they broke the law" is the answer to this..you watch and see what happens..These men did their job, and apparently letting a "DRUG DEALER" is better off then a Border Agent protecting us? There is alot more to this case that I wish others would read..if you go out and follow up on the web on this you will see what really happened. I wish I knew how this happened...Both of these men who had young kids at home who if have to serve the full sentence will not see their kids grow up..for doing their job. We all need to step up and write our government if you feel this is a injustice. Something got lost in the case and some of the jury were told they were mislead.

Sounds real crazy, but to be very honest the courts have been letting frivolous hearings and awardings come in and win for along time.
Look at the lady that sued McDonald's about her hot coffee burning her mouth. What the %^ did she expect. Last time I heard that is all McDonalds served. She didn't order a Frappaccino from Starbucks. She was at the Golden Arches.

Well, everyone has known that lawsuits were a old American pastime. It is inconcivible in my mind that the people, who are there to stop the people who are putting drugs on the street, are imprisioned for doing there job. What is that?! In my humble opinon, these guys should get a raise for doing there job, not being placed with the common criminal for doing what there paid to do.
P.S. Any judge who is willing to hear this case should be shot in the *** the way this drug dealer was

Too bad the aim of the border agents wasn't a little more true....should always aim for the heart or the head. Let him win...and while he waits, someone needs to track him down and finsh what the BPA didn't.

I don't think you'd solve such problems closing the US borders.
Incidentally, by doing so you'd do a huge damage to the "foreign brain input" the US hugely benefits from.
And I agree on the comment re attorneys & frivolous lawsuits... :\ maybe they should be sent into exile!!
