Working on a comedy / thiller stage play here in USA. Wanting various ways (what you think would be scary to be seen on stage in a theatre production - be realistic here - no high tech stuff) to murder characters on stage. List different ways, scenarios to kill off characters.

The guy below who mentioned suffocation with the plastic bag reminded me of the show 24. Jack was suffocating his brother with a plastic bag. Then he was torturing him by injecting him through an IV with something that causes pain, so I was thinking you could do something similar. Someone sneaks into a hospital and injects a patient causing an overdose or something like that. Wouldn't take much special effects for that.

Suffocation would work really well. You could have the murderer put a plastic bag over the victim's head, then hold him down as he trashes. The relative quiet of this violent act... the thrashing.. the long silence at the end... - all would work effectively in a play format.

Poison, drop a heavy object on them, chop them with an axe, stealthily slit their throat. strangle them with their own shirt or nylons, drive a stake directly through one of their eyes, hang them with an extension chord, push them into a hole, stab them with a big rusty nail
