tesco sells HP printers at a very reasonable price. You can get an all-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier, which will print photos, for around £60. Its very simple to use, you just need to skim through the instruction leaflet then load the CD onto your computer. I am a real technophobe but even I have managed to get to grips with the HP all-in-one

Well you need an all in one printer now there are many of them about look in argos (UK) and you will find them for £40+ or you can go for a wireless printer thats about £60+.
I advise not to buy a Lexmark as they appear to be good as they are very cheap but the ink is rather expensive. I would think go for a Canon Printer as you can get a black and colour ink cartridge online for only about £20(ish) which is very good.
So dont buy a lexmark what ever you do but choose a make like canon, epson etc.

Us oldies are cost consious! First, combo's cost, better to have both than an all in one..all your eggs in one basket. There is no need to replace cartridges on a printer, I have a 'Continuous Ink Supply System' just fill my bottles up (100ml=about 8 carts at a time) Battle Plan,,,, Enter 'Continuous Ink Supply System ' as search term. Create a list of printers that can be 'converted' (can be just as easily unconverted) Select your printer, get printer and system. I have an Epson 320 phote, prints CD 's sweetly, photos beautifully, saves a mint. Systems inc 600ml of ink are £45.00, replacement ink, £20.00 (600ml) Thats about 45 carts worth. Epson 45 carts = £ 280 or thereabout Saving! embarrasing....any queries, my e-mail is on my profile, at the ripe young age of 62

I`ve come to the conclusion Epson are very good , and the inks are very reasonable. I have an HP all in one,and its very nearly cheaper for me to buy another printer than to buy Ink for it

for photos, you might try an epson or a canon. or an hp with 6 separate cartridges.
