I would take him over all but 3 players in league if i were starting a team. Lebron, Carmello, DWade. I wouldnt trade the pick for Nowitzki, Bosh, Yao, Kobe, Carter, Nash, Garnett, GArenas, Oden or anyone else.I think hell average 25 as a rookie.

Remember when he's 20 years old averaging 22-25 a game saying i'm an idiot for wanting him over a 33 yr old Nash etc. When hes 20 averaging that, theres only 3 guys i can think of i'd rather have on my team.

I honestly think he could average 35+ someday. Someday soon too, early in his career.

he is very good. i think oden is a defensive power. not many players in the history of basketball have been a defensive force like oden, he will change the entire game plan for the other team. durant though is like garnett would have been in college. he can do it on both ends of the court. depending on what you needed as a team either one of those players would be a great first pick.I'm a cavs fan so i would take oden. he would really open up the court for the rest of the team. although i wouldn't be disappointed in getting durant becuase as you said he might average 25 a game

He's the first or second best college player in the NCAA but you sound awfully foolish by even suggesting that he's better than Nash, Garnett, Kobe, Dirk or Yao. He's not and there's a pretty good chance that he'll never be even close to that good. You wouldn't make a good scout.

There have been many "Next Michael Jordans" coming out of college that were just horrible when they came to the pros and Kevin Durant might just be one of them. He may be the best in college but the NBA is a completely different ball game. There are alot more games, the games are longer, there's more pressure, more publicity and like a million other things that can easily break a supposedly good college player down to absolutely nothing. We'll just have to wait and see.

Durant is good but not great... YET... He still needs to mature and get more of a killer instinct into him. He doesn't have leadership capabilities either... Like Jordan he would get into players faces if they messed up... Durant does not do that... Also when I was watching the Texas and Texas A&M game I noticed that he thinks he has to do it all by himself... He needs to learn when to pass and when to take the shot... There was one play late in the half where he was covered by 3 players, 3 players and tried to force a shot... That's not going to get you very far in the league... I know that he won't score 25 as a rookie... Few years in the L and if he matures he will def. be scoring 25-30 ppg easily.

Kevin Durant was the All American McDonald's player of the year in high school and now hes continuing his rampage in College ball. He averages about 33 points in conference play which is unheard of when your a freshman. He can take you to the hold or stroke a three on you either in transition or when two guys are on him. This guy is special and he will make a difference in the NBA i guarantee it.

Kevin Durant is the best college player right now. He's a do it all player, very versatile, and will be a good pro. Him and Oden are basically ready for the NBA, you could ship them out right now and they would be able to contribute big time, sadly you can't do that.

I wouldnt quite to do that, but if he enters the draft next year, make no doubt, he will be the #1 pick. I mean he's good, but he's not LeBron man calm down. There's no way he's gonna average 25 as a rookie.
