Your friend needs to realize that addiction is a disease. He cannot stop on his own - he needs help to realize why he is taking the drugs and why he started taking them. if you go to a website www.crchealth.com you can find a facility for you friend. Call them and talk to someone in the admissions dept. They can walk you through what is going to happen. Your friend has to take the first step.. you are a good friend for standing by him... iAddiction is not only hard on the addict it is hard on all those involved. Good Luck to you and your friend

First of all, he'll have to detox for up to 72 hours before a rehab will take him. They have detox facilities. If you can't afford for him to go to rehab look around for Half Way Houses. Especially since he is already a recovering addict...he knows what he needs to do to stay clean (I am also a recovering addict/alcoholic). Definitely get him to an NA (narcotics anonymous) meeting as soon as possible. Keep encouraging him, and remember that detox is painful. Just be there for him, but don't let him manipulate you. Talk with a professional at your local CDC (chemical dependancy center).

your friend has made an excellent choice to quit...good for him!
he needs rehab alright, he has had quite a few vices, and unless he seeks professional assistance, he may quit the pain pills eventually, but his chances of falling back into old habits are very high and likely indeed....
I think rehab is very effective if the individual involved is serious about cleaning up their life....some places you are required to live in while getting treatment, but he needs to look into it

rehab is for the weak minded... you have to just stop, say no when it's right infront of you.
The reason rehab isnt good is because u dont have access, it's not there for the taking.
Slap him around, if he has kids, show him pictures of his kids and ask him the question..."dont you want to be looked up to, or be looked at thru glass (jail) or looked down on (coffin).

Get a professional involved. They help people like him everyday and are non-judgemental. They know the downfalls of addiction and can help him. Best of luck to you and your friend.
