get her a nice card and a stuffed bear or something. you don't need to get the Macy's gift card, since you are not serious that is a little expensive. if she doesn't like chocolates, chips ahoy is fine. my boyfriend got me double stuff oreos one year, as long as she likes it, it doesn't matter. but like i said, if its not serious don't get too much because you don't know what she will get you. and you don't want her to feel cheap if she didn't get you something extravagant. good luck

Think about what she likes and be creative. I enjoy "chic flick" movies that have the romantic storyline. So, one year my husband got me a HUGE bear and put the movie Sleepless in Seatle strapped to the bear in my passenger seat of my car. I was so surprised. He's not the real big romantic, but he touched my heart. If your girlfriend likes movies, take her to see a romantic movie and then go to a nice romantic place to eat. Or, if she likes chocolates, get her a subscription to a chocolate of the month club or even order some special kind from Germany. (They make some of the best) If she likes jewelry pick out something that you think she would like based off of her personality. Finally, I dont think it is the gift that matters, I think it is the thought behind the gift. Make it special by putting some real thought into it and it will be the best gift.

Peach Rose symbolizes modesty.
Dark Pink Rose symbolizes gratitude and appreciation.
Pale Pink Rose symbolizes grace, admiration and sympathetic thoughts.

Red Roses and White combined symbolize bonding and harmony.
Make here a home-made card and write her a nice letter about all the things you like her for. If you get her chocolates, well, you know what happens.

When I was dating my now husband, on our first Valentines Day we had been dating for about 3 months. He got me a necklace and a Teddy Bear and chocolates. I would have been satisfied with just the Teddy Bear and the chocolates.

Carnations
Chips Ahoy
With the lack of her actually being a girlfriend, I would nix the gift card.

Get her tickets to a concert of her favorite band (within reason!)
Make her a card. I always use a piece of posterboard so it looks really nice. Use glitter and stuff to make it look attractive, and put in it reasons why you wanted to date her.
Your idea sounds really nice too!

Only a month, and not serious yet....get her some flowers or something just fun, you don't need to be extravagant (in fact you shouldn't).
