He made a great leap forward in the field of slaughtering millions of innocent people. He took what Hitler did and applied it to the Chinese. He's the father of all the human rights violations in China. Yup, they still put you in prison for speaking out against the government.

It was similar to the Russian "Five Year Plan"
in that it was a plan to industrialise heavily the country by developing mining and railroads as well as factories and paved roads.
Also they "redistributed land" , which included taking personal property for the state as well as making agriculture under state command. Basically it was a propaganda term for stealing land for industry .
