(same with most other restaurant places) so ive been jobless since last may and im wondering, do u think it will be easy to find a job when i have my 18th birthday next month (i wont look until after the baby is born) i just need to know if it will get easier or harder and if yall have suggestions on after i apply if they dont call me, what should i do. (i know i could put this in another category but i am pregnant and i am talking about things that parents should know (especially the young ones) btw i live in arkansas but i doubt that makes a difference.

i am going to go to college this year in august, but i still need a job, i got my GED last year. so, i have worked in telemarketing already, the company said i wasnt what they were looking for, and they let me go (and it seems to follow me everywhere) i have already worked jobs that i worked 40+ hours aweek, last christmas(2005) i worked about 60 hours a week at a retail store, the baby's father is gone because i was raped and (long story dont want to get into it) i wont have too much trouble with care, because i have lots of responsible famly and friends to help

If you're looking for entry level jobs like waitressing, working at McDonalds, basic retail etc, turning 18 might not make much of a difference. These jobs are generally open to younger people as well as older people. In some cases being 18 will give you additional abilities (being able to sell alcohol in some states). Having a h.s. diploma or GRE under your belt, if you have one by that point, will probably make you a more attractive candidate.

In terms of applying: bring your own pen when you go to fill out applications, dress nicely (slacks and a button-down shirt are fine for most stores). Ask politely when you turn in your application when they next think they will be hiring, and if you don't get a call by that point, CALL THEM up and ask if there's any questions you can answer or if they'd like to interview you. So many people don't do this and it's incredibly useful if you want a job. Don't be embarassed to ask friends or family members for help getting a job at their places of employment: if you are a good employee, it reflects well upon them. And don't let it get you down if you don't get hired right away... even for higher level jobs, the vast bulk of places you apply to won't hire you for one reason or another. It's that way for everyone. Just keep hustling and you'll get a good job pretty quickly.

being 18 makes it a lot easier. Do you have a high school diploma? If not, get your GED before you apply. Being 18 more employers will consider you because you're not a minor and can work 40 hours if necessary. If food places make you sick, try retail. Also consider other places besides food, Like telemarketing. They pay a lot more and you can work part time being able to see your baby a lot more.

well i was 15 when i got pregnant with my first and also tried to work in a resteraunt and couldnt. and now im 19 and have my second child and am trying to get a job. its not easy to find a job but i think you will have better luck after you are 18 because there are alot of things you cant do at a job if you arent 18. so i would say yeah it should be easier for you. jobs here are pretty easy to find but i live in wisconsin.

I have been teaching skin care with Mary Kay for few years now. It allows me freedom and flexibility to be home with my children while making money. It only cost 100 to get started and you get over 300 in products to get you stated and make 50% of what sell. There are a lot of direct sale companies out there so if this one isn't right for you I might know someone ( I do a lot of networking with other women) you can search the Internet for others too.
Here is a link to my website to read more about the Mary Kay Opportunity I would be happy to answer any question for you. Good Luck !!

I think you should try to find a job that you can work out of home if possible. Especially, looks like you know to use the computer. Otherwise, if you almost having the baby, just wait until you have the baby. Honestly, it will get tougher to work once you have the baby, unless you have someone in the family to take care of the baby child.

It is best to get a job as soon as your doctor releases you to go back to work. (at that point smells won't make you naseus) and it should get easier as you are not pregnant and although it is against the law to not hire someone because they are pregnant places do still do this. After you apply give them a couple of days to call you...if they do not call them to "check on your application" showing intiative will definately not hurt when trying to find a job.

You should try a telelmarketing company, you should do really well there as you will not have to smell any nasty smells and you can relax and sit all day. And yes things will get easier once the baby is born.
