Black people ...?

What does it mean when people say that black people in America alienate themselves from the rest of the people in America?

I have heard this more than once and I'm unsure as to what they are trying to say

I dont think that any of the things that are unique about black american culture is cause for alienation. True, we like nice cars, fancy clothes, play loud music, talk in movie theatres,ect. (of course Im just generalizing) but who people say "they don't like black people because ..." are just making up excuses. Because those very things are what other people love about black culture.

I think the true source of alienation is white people's alienation from nature.

Some people falsely assume that because things exists such as BET, NAACP, historically black colleges & universitiest, etc.; black people want to alientate themselves from the rest of America.

People who say that totally ignore history. They total ignore the fact that there was a federal ruling that blacks could not be American citizens and therefore had no rights. They total ignore that blacks were shut out of certain jobs, schools, areas, etc. They totally ignore the resistance that blacks faced in America, as they fought for their rights. They simply ingore the fact were shut out of American life and culture.

It mean that because we have a very different view point on America than other groups in america that we keep bring up slavery, the period after it. To me Blacks are to a point more american and the other groups are trying to play catch up since we to a point truely don't have a country of orgin because we have so many ethnic/ races in our background. Being black to me means you aren't really african because you are a mix of african, white, native american, may be spanish( hispanic, cuban, asian, etc) We are what it is to be truly american since most of our ancestors didn't come here of there own free will but were stolen and forced here.

O MY GOSH PEOPLE! IF YOUR NOT BLACK! WHY ANSWER THE QUESTION? why say that black people still have a slave mantality? how red neck is that? how ignorant is that! o my gosh people. Black people dont isolate themselves. some lower class blacks have been in the ghetto because we've been placed there, and when we want to get out, there's little help from people that claim that WE STILL HAVE SLAVE MENTALITY. ghettos we premade before we came we didnt create them!

American are very fickle,they are quick to criticize and eager to accept stereotypes.They believe that all black American are the same,that they only look out for the interest of the Black community,and that they are second class citizens

maybe because most black people do things that other cultures or races do not do. (like using slang as a language, having big cars, baggy clothing, gold teeth, hip-hop music etc. well, i'm not like this, so saying that all blacks are like that is just another dumb generalization)

many do it due to thier slave mentality, reparations, whites still hate us beliefs. some even hate the jews and asians. but maybe other people may give some input from where they live in america, even some black persons.
