Don't listen to the first answer, once you overstay your visa you can't come in for years.
Get an attorney. It usually costs $2,000 to $3,000 and it takes about a year to get a green card. You'll need some kind of support too... a sponsor, and a REASON to stay here. (Marriege ... there are others.)

A person would find an immigration service in their neighborhood they will not turn you in so do not be afraid, they will help you find a sponsor and probably a job. You will have to apply for a green card status. I applaud you for wanting to stay by doing it the right way. You will go far. I wish you much luck in your future.

Go home ! If you have over stayed for a very good reason, then you can then re-apply to return. If you do not have a good reason for your over stay, if you are caught you will be deported. If you cannot keep the rules and regulations you agreed to when you came to this country, then you do not deserve to stay here.

it you are an immigration offender and you have exhausted all the appeals and tribunals then you will be deported, if you aren't an asylum seeker and simply not renewed your visa, then ask the home office for an extension..if they refuse, u can reapply with a different set of circumstances...this applies to the UK...
or do what others do, get a wife/husband

If a person has overstaid (sp) their visa, they are a criminal and will not become a citizen, they need to apply like anyone else for citizenship
