I recently heard that because of some conditions this season Donte Stallworths contract with the eagles became void making him a UFA this season. With the wr market this year in free agenct slim is the kinda guy the Patriots would seriously persue?

Stallworth only had a one year contract with the Eagles, so he will be a free agent unless he's resigned before free agency. But since New England (and Philly for that matter) aren't generally teams that go overboard on paying for big ticket free agents, ... that's how they both stay up on top, ... I kind of doubt they'd be in the market, but that's just my opinion. Besides, there's also a health issue. He's had hamstring problems throughout his career. He's good though, when not hurt.

I'd expect them to use on of their first round picks on a WR, more than go the free agency rout. They have alot of money under the cap, but also a lot of internal contracts that need to be sorted. Dwayne Bowe from LSU, maybe Teddy Ginn from Ohio State could be on the board when the Pats get to their two first round picks. Assante Samuel is going to take a lot of money to not walk away, and the Pats have a history of not paying out big contracts. It could be an interesting off season. I really hope they shore up the WR corp, bring Assante back, and draft another decent corner. If the WR corp had been taken care of last year it wouldv'e been Brady holding up another Lombardi trophy and not the horrible sight of Peyton winning a Superbowl MVP award.

I would love to have stallworth....if Brady could just get his hands on a probowl caliber receiver the possibilities are endless
