Yes, turn in the phone and pay an early termination fee. You should get Verizon, or a plan where you pay as you go, so if you stop paying, you don't still get bills from the cell phone company and you will not have to barge out of contracts like you would. I just renewed a 2-year contract from Verizon, and my family uses three lines, and they have good deals on nice phones.

Actually, if you can speak to someone at the company who is high enough up on the chain of command there is a chance that you could persuade them to release you from the contract. When my husband lost his job, I called Cingular to request our contract be dismissed. At first they refused. So I asked to speak to their boss. And when that didn't work, I asked to speak to his boss. After being transfered many times, I finally explained the situation to the right person and they took care of it for me. It was a large hastle, but I got out of the contract for both my and my husband's phones without having to pay 1 cent! Good luck! (you'll need it) ;)

call them and say that you are not getting a good reception... if you are within your 30 days you can cancel now.... but other than that you have to blame it on the coverage
