These answers are pretty silly. It's not like you can just waltz into Johns Hopkins or Duke. Those schools are BRUTALLY competitive to get into. You have to be one of the best students in America to have a chance there.

So, the real answer is, that any medical school you get into is a good school. Once you get your MD degree and head off to a residency, then you are a Doctor, no matter what med school in the USA you went to. The advantage of being at a great school like JHU or Duke (or Virginia, or Georgetown, etc) is that you will have a slightly better chance at getting first picks on your residency, and you will be a little better prepared for your medical board exams. But your real goal is just to get into SOME medical school.

Duke University is the best in the southeast and the University of Virginia.

BTW - John Hopkins is a great school also (possibly the best medical school in the country), but it is in Baltimore, MD and not Washington, D.C. Georgetown is probably the best medical school in D.C.

By far Johns Hopkins. It's not in the south though. It's in Washington DC.
